DJ Steve Supreme von Supremus Sounds - einer der erfolgreichsten Schwei-
zer DJs und sein Label. Wie alles begann? Mit den West Indies, seiner grossen Schwester und Michael Jacksons Video zu Thriller.
Man schreibt das Jahr 1983. Klein Steve, damals 5 Jahre alt, sitzt mit seiner älteren, total musikbegeisterten Schwester vor dem Fernseher und verfolgt gebannt die ersten Musikvideos, die über den neuen Sender MTV ausgestrahlt werden. Welches Video ihm damals am meisten imponierte? Ganz klar „Thriller“ von Michael Jackson! Supreme wurde jedoch nicht nur von MTV, sondern auch von seinem Vater beeinflusst. Dieser stammt aus den West Indies, spielte Gitarre und prägte seine Kinder mit seiner musikalischen Ader.

Den Grundstein für seine Karriere legte Steve, als er im Alter von 15 Jahren zwei Plattenspieler der Marke Technics aus den USA importieren liess. Zusammen mit Kollegen begann er zu experimentieren und zu üben. „Häsch es richtigs Erfolgs- erläbnis, wenn serstmal zwei Beats überenand leisch und sie au suber überenand liget!“ Das Spiel mit dem schwarzen Gold wurde schnell zu einer Leidenschaft, die fortan sein Leben prägte.

Heute ist DJ Steve Supreme einer der erfolgreichsten Schweizer DJs. Seine Spezi- alitäten sind seine technische Versiertheit und das Auflegen im Open Format: Hip Hop, R‘n‘B, Disco, House, Electro und Rock - alles was tanzbar ist, wird gespielt! Dabei wird jedes Set vor Ort individuell der Crowd angepasst. Sein Erfolg orientiert sich dann auch nicht an den Landesgrenzen, sondern geht weit darüber hinaus. So hat er schon in den grossen Jetset Clubs von NY, Las Vegas, Miami und Ibiza gespielt, ganz nach dem Motto: Sky is the limit!

Doch Steve Supreme ist nicht nur Club-DJ, sondern betreibt ein eigenes DJ-Label mit der Agentur Supremus Sounds, sowie er eine eigene Radioshow beim Schwei- zer Sender Radio 105 und BM Radio Deutschland hatte. Zudem ist er auch als Produzent tätig und hat in Zusammenarbeit mit Universal Music Schweiz schon einige CDs herausgegeben.

Wie DJ Steve Supreme es so weit gebracht hat? Steve war schon früh davon über- zeugt, einmal in den USA Musik spielen zu werden. Seine Weitsicht, sein Vertrau- en in sich selbst und vor allem die Leidenschaft, mit welcher er die Kunst des DJ Daseins praktiziert, haben ihm dazu verholfen aus seinem Hobby eine Berufung zu machen.

DJ Steve Supreme from Supremus Sounds – one of the most successful DJ’s of Switzerland and his label. How everything started? With the West Indies, his elder sister and the video “Thriller” from Michael Jackson.
It’s the year 1983. At the age of 5, little Steve was sitting excitedly in front of the TV with his elder sister, also a huge fan of music, watching the first music videos on MTV. Which video impressed him the most back then? Definitely “Thriller” from Michael Jackson! But MTV wasn’t the only influence on Supreme. His father, who comes from the West Indies, also brought music in the life of his children by playing the guitar.
At the age of 15, Steve laid the foundation for his career by importing two record player of the brand “Technics” from the USA. Together with his friends he started experimenting and practicing. “When you are trying to lay one beat on top of ano- ther and they match for the first time, you get a great feeling of success.” Playing with the black gold quickly became a passion that henceforth dominated his life. Today, DJ Steve Supreme is one of the most popular DJ’s of Switzerland. His specialties are his technical skills and playing open format: Hip Hop, R’n’B, Disco, House, Electro and Rock – everything danceable gets played! Each set is indivi- dually adapted to the crowd he’s playing for. Steve’s success can’t be stopped by the boarders of Switzerland but reaches far beyond. He has already played in the biggest jetset clubs of NY, Las Vegas, Miami and Ibiza - like his slogan: Sky is the limit!
But Steve Supreme is not only a club-DJ. He also operates his own DJ-Label to- gether with the agency Supremus Sounds and had his own show at the Swiss radio station Radio 105 and the German radio station BM Radio Deutschland. Moreover Steve acts as a producer and has already released a couple of CDs in cooperation with Universal Music Switzerland.
How did DJ Steve Supreme get that far? Since he first started making music, he strongly believed that he would once play in the USA. His vision, his faith in himself and mainly his passion for the art of being a DJ helped him come into his own.
